This year, space became available at a commercial office building right across the street from campus and just a minute from Alumni House. However, our board of directors wanted to be assured that we were handling the transaction professionally and responsibly. Since we don’t engage in this type of work on any kind of regular basis, I wondered who in the Cal alumni network might be able to help us. Fortunately, you have been sending me your Space Place newsletter for a number of years, so you jumped to mind immediately.
Your enthusiasm for helping us with the project, your extensive knowledge and vast network of professionals all combined to provide the perfect set of expertise to help us negotiate the new lease. At the Cal Alumni Association, we work on creating a professional network of Cal alumni who can be called upon for the best in professional expertise. Your team provided just that—sturdy Golden Bears who helped us in our lease negotiations and with negotiating the contract documents. Thanks in large part to your assistance, we will be moving into our new, wonderful office space in just a few months. I am confident we met the board of directors’ charge to conclude the negotiations professionally and responsibly, protecting the best interests of our alumni membership.
