Pathrise can’t speak highly enough of Dan Mihalovich and The Space Place! We started working with Dan as a seed stage startup with under 20 employees when we were working out of our co-founders’ home in Daly City. As we outgrew the house and began the process of looking for our first office, finding Dan was a godsend.
We were drawn to The Space Place because of Dan’s commitment to putting tenants first. Our company exists to solve a similar problem by the same means in another sphere of life — helping people navigate the confusing territory of finding a job. Given our parallel values, we were very excited to work with Dan.
From the beginning, Dan went above and beyond in sharing his wealth of knowledge. As a very young team with no prior experience looking for an office, we found his counsel to be instrumental to the project’s success. What’s more, we know we’ll have more confidence next time we’re looking for a space because Dan took so much time to educate us throughout the entire process.
As a startup with very limited time, we found it really helpful that Dan was available via phone, text, or email at any hour. He saved us hours of time by managing the full project, working tirelessly to move the ball down the field. Any time there was a delay in the process, either because we were lagging in making a decision or a party we were working with was unresponsive, Dan quickly got us back on track.

The Griddig platform was also key to staying organized throughout the process. The space calculation and forecasting tool guided us in taking key factors into consideration. The space comparison tools helped clarify what was possible, in terms of floorplans, pricing, and more. And when it came time to finalize documentation, being able to reference everything in one place through Griddig across stakeholders was highly efficient.
Another highlight of working with Dan is how well-networked he is. He introduced us to lawyers, furniture consultants, IT contractors, and insurance specialists and all of the individuals he connected us with were fantastic to work with. His deep knowledge of the city and all of the players in the commercial real estate space was key in helping us find a great deal.
Finally, we couldn’t be happier with the office Dan helped us secure. We had some difficult constraints to work with, needing a space in downtown San Francisco that also had a large number of private offices, with a limited budget to boot. Dan was able to work with all of our criteria and now we’re in a beautiful space just a block away from the Montgomery BART station and couldn’t be happier.
